Bike Recyclery just got a bunch of Timbuk2 bags.

I have no idea if these are desirable or if any are great deals but thought I'd put it out there.

If you're in a major city, you can find a timbuk2 pretty easily and cheaply on craigslist or at a charity/ thrift shop.
Timbuk2 does big business with private label bags that companies issue/ "gift" to their employees. Ex-/ current employees readily get rid of them.

Lots of good deals if you don't care about a bag with a company's logo on it or the patience to remove embroidering or patches.

Example:

I'm still using the same Timbuk2 bag I got my employer to pay for in 2009. It's a "Commute Slim", similar to a few of the bags BR has right now. It's held up really well as you might expect after almost everyday use and a fair amount of traveling.

Only thing I'd change is adding buckles to the flap (mine only has the magnetic closure), which come to think of it, I could do myself.

Lets start the year with consumables...

Continental Race Light tubes - 42mm stem - $6.95

A touch more for longer stems.

None finer IMO.

These are race tires - short lived but tons of grip and so supple.

Those are nice tires. I rode them last year on my race bike. When combined w latex tubes, in the first couple races I constantly thought they were going flat... took a while to get used to how soft they were. Very nice!

I'm trying the Spesh. Turbo Cottons this year, we'll see how it goes.

One of my favorites. You won't be disappointed.
I'm going back to them after my corsa g+ are done.

are the corsa g+ more durable or should I jump on these while they’re super cheap? I’ll be running them on my ‘nice’ bike... but that’s still all street riding and I’m not sure I’m fond of soft tires. I suppose for that price its worth a try reguardless?

Awesome, I thought about getting the Orlov but I grabbed the Citizen instead. I always wanted to try one of their mess bags, couldn't pass it up.

They're great. The original Soma was a sling bag, not a backpack like it is now. That's been my daily bag for almost a decade and is still holding up great. The only reason Ive been wanting to try a backpack is because the Soma likes to shift to the right side of my back and I end up having to reach back and center it a couple times each mile. I don't use the cross the chest strap because I broke the buckle shortly after buying it and never got around to fixing it. I'm sure that would help. Regardless I love their bags. If I ever decide to go clipless I'm definitely gonna give their shoes a try.

Diggin your avatar btw... I'm a die hard black flag / rollins fan boy.

Sorry about the slow reply! The corsa+ are actually less durable than the rubino! Rubino is designed to be a trainer tire that has some protection. Corsa designed to be a race day tire and has minimal protection for additional speed and grip.
