Light(er) wheels for Moulton TSR
Hi all,
I am looking to buy some lighter weight wheels for my Moulton TSR. It still has the original 36 hole rims which seem a little overkill and wondered what people recommend in 406mm that are lighter and with good bearings but still strong enough for the urban commute.
I am likely to keep a set of Schwalbe Marathon tyres on the existing wheels and put a lighter tyre on the new ones, so the effect will be multiplied.
Thanks in advance.

You can buy the wheelset of the higher end models with the Moulton hubs, for instance the wheels of the Moulton Speed. They are lightweight but strong enough for regular road use.
Another possibility is to build custom wheels for instance by Ginkgo they are used to build small size wheels.
Andoza is making specific high end wheels for Moulton bikes.
Moulton and Andoza rear wheels have the Moulton specific rear hub freewheel that accept the Moutton 10-28 or 10-32 cassette.

You should check the size: is it 20" ETRTO406 or 20" ETRTO451 ?
And the rear OLD, what is the rear OLD of your TSR, 130mm like most other Moulton or 135mm ?

I am looking for 406mm wheels as I already have a bunch of tyres in that size and I want to easily swap between the wheelsets. I have seen a Moulton with 451 which looks good though.
I measure the OLD as 135mm, but as it is a steel frame does it matter too much? I notice that the litepro wheels are 135.

I wouldn't recommend wheels in ETRTO451 because the rim brake won't fit and there are few tires in ETRTO451.
