There were a few Infinito CV's on the ride today. They're very pretty.

so I actually woke up early and was able to ride to the start of the San Diego Metric century, 19miles to the start.....felt pretty good after so rode home too, the last hills in the last 10mile was brutal on my quads. Extra credit isn't always a good thing, especially when using a singlespeed Good note I finished May's Century a month Challenge, so 5/5 going into a 3 day weekend

thanks! gearing was 48x18, and hit the last few hills between mile 97 and 101, my quads wanted to buckle and just walk. The 7% short punchers at low RPM SUCKED!!!!

@jimincalif heck no I topped out at 42mph just coasting on those hills, that WAAAAAAAY to many RPM to be fixed even with brakes

today's lunch ride....so nice to be on carbon and with gear and with aero wheels. But stomping out of the pedals on hills felt easier today with my swollen quad muscles.lots of POWA

interesting fact, appartly I rode Z2 allot today or does this mean I was coasting to much on hills or stuck at red lights to much? But rode at .90 IF or 252 NP watts

I didn't know about Godspeed.

I used to watch RAAM coverage on ABC's Wild World of Sports back in the 80s. There is a lot of it on YouTube.

watched the documentry, it was OK, wish they did better cinematography as whole. But good story. At least it wasn't all bouncy like others I've seen on the big screen. Felt like I was watching a movie on a boat with those older ones.

Now I /really/ want a bloody power meter again. And aero wheels.

... and a road bike.

I'm not sure how the numbers would look for me; nothing compared to that craziness. I'll be saving up for some pedals, I think.

You will need aero wheels for that bike.

NEED.

Power meter? Eh. But definitely the wheels.

@expatbrit if I were to get some carbon hoops for my CX bike, they would likely be this set from reynolds
41mm x 25mm wide and lifetime warranty.

Unfortunately, Performance Bikes doesn't offer their special OEM version for 2/3s the price. $1500 for set isn't too bad when you compare to the likes of Enve and Zipp though. Just don't smash them into another car OK?

actually, it's super hilly out your way, so maybe AL hoops are the way to go - or a combo set with an AL brake track, unless you're getting a disk bike.

I think he went all in and starting from the ground up aka can't used smashed bike parts anymore

If I didn't already have Mavic Carbones, i would have wanted a disc brake bike. But didn't happen....

I didn't want a disk brake bike only because EVERYTHING else I own is basically interchangeable.

Disks solve the "muh carbon over heated" problem nicely though, it'll happen eventually for me.

I'm loving the discs on my Niner, but yeah, not interchangeable with my Roubaix.

i am — yes — starting from scratch. Old wheels are disk brake, QR. Plus the front hit the hit and run driver and is very sad. Along with a lot of the rest of the bike, but...

That means I’m good to go. Also, I have one bike (well — I have the disk and QR MTB, but ...) so interchangeability isn’t a big concern.

That means clean slate. We will see how finances play — plus I do a bit of climbing so light is good. Fulcrum Racing Quattro Carbons, those Reynolds, or the Mavic Carbon Pro. We will see when he bike (if the bike!!!) arrives.

keep your eyes on the pros closet on ebay - I saw a nice pair of reynold's assault factory seconds for about 650 earlier this week. Tried to find them again but nope. Till then, enjoy the stock wheels.

Went for a nice bike ride this afternoon... got sick of slacking all week. SO I plugged in some garmin live segments, not sure I really like them yet. At one point, I'm fighting my way up a hill and my garmin is taunting me, telling me I'm 30 seconds behind... well, I could just make out the little text that said @jimincalif

WTH Jim. (this was East Road in La Habra Heights)

Too funny, guess it's a small world. We did a ride up there about 3 years ago, also went up Turnbull that day. I need to send BCI up there again, I enjoyed it.

i can see why you might not like live segments, pretty disheartening to know you're behind ME when going up a hill! 😱

My last two bikes were both used carbon... work great. And those weren't used, they were factory blems. Fancy people tend to buy and sell carbon wheels all the time because they have to have the latest and greatest, usually nothing wrong with their castoffs. Go look on the road forum for a guy named trek mogul and enjoy his contributions to the cycling world.

I think it finally stopped raining here, and the sun came out. Did a short ride after work today to celebrate. I am going to see if I can get at least something in every day for the next couple of days..

Last weekend I was on Zwift again - went up to turn "10" on AdZ. I like having a plan B when it is raining or time is short. And I am starting to appreciate time not spent driving to a trailhead.

I raced my MTB at the local thursday night races. Pretty much a drag race, 4.5mile laps and 280ft vert, I had to do 3 laps roughly 18mins lap for me. Some head wind, lots of power sections. My lungs are full of dust now
