Tire swap on C1
I went back with my Maxxis Hookworms on my Matte Bark C1 and put my cruiser bars back on .
After my crash last week , I feel more comfortable riding the Maxxis . They ride so smooth too .
This may become my winter ride .
It is for now anyways . 56 today but sunny so I did 7.2 miles around the neighborhood.

I was going to change out the chainring to a 36 tooth . I’ve bought a 40 and a 36 tooth Wald and I’d taken the crank completely out today and was trying to remove the old chainring when I noticed the pin hole that holds the chainring in position was an oval and the Walds were round .
I put it all back together until I can get the correct chainring.
I have a Sunlight 32 tooth with an oval slot I plan on putting on my black C1 with the two speed kickback hub . Thinking the 32 tooth will give me a super low gear for hills and a second gear for cruising.
I’m going to have to figure out how to get the old chainrings off first .
That or change to a three piece crank . If I knew what I needed to buy , I’d go that route on both C1’s .
Anybody ever change out their C1 to a three piece crank ?
edit: found out Sturmey Archer has a 24 tooth cog that should fit my single speed rear hub . Hopefully that’ll give me the gearing I’m looking for . It’s a lot easier to change the rear than it is the front chainring.

Updated pic of my Matte Bark C1 . I swapped out the rear cog for a 24 tooth . Makes a world of difference. Spins out around 11.5-12mph . Plenty fast . Over a three mile cardio ride this evening in the neighborhood, I averaged 9.8mph .
Love this bike !

Rims came from Bikewheelwarehouse but they’ve decided to no longer offer cruiser wheelsets .
Tires are Maxxis Hookworms 26x2.5” .
At the moment, my Matt Bark C1 has a silver wheelset with a two speed kickback hub and Maxxis Hookworms.
My black C1 has a green SS wheelset with Maxxis Hookworms.

What front brake caliper are you running on the Bark C1? I'm considering one for mine but I'm not sure it will clear the front stubby fender I have. I'd like a little more stopping power but not sure I want to ditch the fenders yet.
