Over 500 miles...Over 45 pounds since 9/1/19
Bought my bike on September first. It was a purchase to jump start my exercise and activity. I was 50, 5’ 10” tall and 230 pounds. Ihaf lost weight before and got down to 170 (which was too thin) But running and the gym just fidnt motivate me to exercise. I thought mountain biking would be a fun alternative and a great way to get in shape. That first ride was brutal. Wow was i out of shape. 5 miles seemed like 500. I kept at it though and within a week or so i was up to 10 miles. Now 20s and no problem. So far I have ridden 518 miles and lost over 45 pounds. I ferl better than i have felt in years! I probably wanna drop maybe 5 more. Looking forward to more rides and better health!!. This place has been great for motivation and inspiration. Thanks!

Good job. I've been cutting out sugar as much as possible and inches come off the belt line. This is an ongoing chore because sugar is everywhere, hiding under rocks and deep in food labels.

I am quite thin and so am no kind of expert on weight loss, but that degree of weight drop in this period of time kind of worries me. Are you still eating--if you don't mind my asking? Don't mean to pry. Just a bit concerned here.

Thanks for the concern...yes I am eating...working out daily too. At least an hour of cardio a day. Basically 3 pounds a week has come off. Drink tons of water...eat more protein, cut out processed white stuff...sugar, flour, and eat more green stuff (fruits and veggies). I am also doing intermittent fasting. You eat all your food between certain hours and after that the rest of the day you only have liquids. So between 8am and 2pm I eat for the day. Dont eat after 2pm. An hour of cardio a day minimum. I have dropped fat and actually have built muscle.
