My first "real" bike is a 1999 Jamis Exile. I bought it used from a LBS 2-3 years ago. Before that I was riding an early 90's Giant Rincon that my grandmother bought me. After years of use, abuse, and neglect the bike shop I was going to commented on it's weight and it needing some major repairs in the near future.
I couldn't afford some of the new bikes they showed me and lucked upon the Exile at another LBS. That shop was doing some spring cleaning and "found" it in their basement. The owner said he remembers selling it brand new but the guy returned it after a few months. He stated the guy rode it a few times around his home but eventually it ended up sitting in his garage. The owner bought it back and its been sitting in the basement ever since. Other than a few scuff marks everything looked brand new and immaculate.
I thought the story was b.s. at first but it turned out plausible. After searching the web I learned what all the original equipment was and everything turned out to be spot on. Of course it's possible the owner replaced what needed to be replaced with the original equipment but I figured why would he even bother.

Just out of luck, my real name as well as Joey Brooks are both shared by several famous people. So a Google search for me using my real name or my pen name will get you lots of dead ends and frustration.

Mine's my first initial and last name. The '807' is from "1001 reasons not to re-enlist". (Hmm... I wonder if anyone ever put that list online...)
I have a different username that I use for stuff that I don't want connected with me... I won't repeat that one here.

...that I have a somewhat risky occupation. The name was given to me as a joke by friends.

My first name is Wayne. When the movie came out, and actually before that, when they were doing the skit on SNL, everyone started calling me waynesworld. It's been a while since all that, but some people still do.

I picked mine from the '60's song by the Crystals; remember, "I met him on a Monday and my heart stood still, Da Doo Ron Ron, Da Doo Ron Ron." Well, I always heard it as Run instead of Ron.
Now, it's not my favorite song and I'm not hung up on '60 Rock 'n Roll; it's more about my interest in running and now biking. Come to think of it, it's kind of fun to sing it while riding. It's one of those things to do to help get you over that hill.
