This story is posted on other social media sites and the link I originally posted was a cyclist forum so the responses are a little biased but another site I looked at had the drivers perspective from it and that was disturbing to read. A few of the many offensive responses was:

"I see cyclists as nothing more than speed bumps when I'm driving"
"middle aged men in spandex are pedophiles anyway"

Almost makes me want to just stay on Zwift.

Have you considered limiting your time on social media?

Let's put it this way. If you can pick and choose which laws you want to follow, then so can everybody else.

Does anybody actually drive the speed limit or below on the highway?

In the past, there have been a few BF posters (of the motorist bashing ilk) who claimed to enjoy annoying motorists by driving at or below the speed limit.

I've driven cops crazy by refusing to speed when they're behind me on a no-passing road, but that's a no-win situation.

I'm a driver and a cyclist. The speed limit thing is the absolute killer of the lawful driver vs. scofflaw cyclists stereotype.

Virtually everyone on the road is choosing to ignore one law or another. I'm not going to slam the bike brakes at a deserted four way stop when I can see there's no one else there. I don't think that's the road to traffic chaos.

Bikes: This list got too long: several ‘bents, an urban utility e-bike, and a dahon D7 that my daughter has absconded with.

This is one of the things that I notice I do differently on an e-bike. I am more likely to come to a full stop. It is just easier to get back up to speed.
