Woo Hoo! Move on to rebuild

Picked up my Ochsner frame and fork from the powder coat shop. I really like the color, especially in the sunshine. Too late now to shoot pix outdoors. The color is called Illusion Root Beer. The bike was originally blue and I was going to do some kind of blue again. However, looking at all the options, 6500+ in powders, I kept coming back to this one. I am very pleased with the result. I ordered a new head set and bottom bracket and hope to start the rebuild in the next couple of days.

Haha! I did the same thing earlier, only the other way around!

You can delete and repost, or many admins can move it for ya. Awesome frame and an interesting post. It deserves to be where it can get the most appreciation!

Nice looking PC, looks like metallic paint and not too thick on the lugwork. Bueno!

I love that color. It reminds of my parents' 1974 Ford station wagon, with the rear-facing seat in the way back.

Looks great!

I sat in the waaaay back of the families late 60's chev station wagon, no rear facing seats I just rattled around in the storage area as my 3 older siblings took up the back seat lol.

Nice color OP reminds a bit of some "coffee" colored Raleigh's of the 60's and 70's

The powder coat was done at Bicycles Vintage & Retro in Lincoln Delaware, Fred Clark ( Retro Cruiser Bicycles banana bikes beach cruisers bicycle retro vintage kustom custom ). e-mail vintagebodies@yahoo.com. I went to his shop and looked at some bikes he had already coated that were still there. I really liked what I saw and took my frame/fork to have him coat coat it. I have another bike I am thinking about doing the same thing to. If I do that, it will be a one stage coating with less gloss.

Always looking for Powder Coaters in close proximity of South Jersey ( Far & Few ), if you don't mind telling what did you pay to have it done. The only place local wants over $250 and their work sucks as I have seen first hand a few bicycles they did. I can get a real wet paint job done much cheaper from a place that only does Bicycles and their work is beautiful.
I bookmarked the link you provided cause I may grab one of the extra padded Banana seats from them for my custom Columbia Play Bike.
