Dura Ace C24 “chirp”

Emonda SL6 developed a “chirp” associated with wheel revolution on last night’s ride. Nothing remarkable happened along the way. It is not real loud, guess about 65-70 dB. There are 12k miles on this wheel set. When spun-up unloaded there is no noise.

Swapped out front wheel and noise went away.

No debris seen in tire.

Carbon, stickers, spokes & nipples “look” ok.

Inspected/re-lube/adjusted bearings, still noisy.

Swapped QR and still noisy.

Where do I look next?

Sorry, I can't hear 70dB so far away. Maybe just ride it. If it gets worse you'll eventually find it easily.

Run to failure?

Agreed. Hopefully problem can be located before it breaks. Likely to be inconvenient when/where failure occurs though.

Edit: Found it! Turned out to be the valve stem flexing against the rim. Put on a stem nut for a test & the noise disappeared. Removed nut. Let air out and pumped back up. Quiet & ready to ride.
