Do I need a smaller size???

Hello!!! This is my first post. So happy to be part of this forum!

My bike is a CAAD10, bought almost 2 and a half years ago. This is my first road bike. I live in a pretty distant and isolated area so there is no one that could help me with a professional bike fit. I have to travel in order to have access to a service like that.

The reason I am writing is that I have some doubts about its size. So, I'm 170cm, 81 inseam, long hands, short torso. I have medium flexibility and I ride a 52. From geometry charts I know that CAAD's geometry is pretty aggressive and my bike has 382mm reach. My current saddle height is 70,5cm and setback is 5cm.

When I first bought it I had lots of spacers under the stem, fit never seemed to be an issue. Saddle was high but moved forward.

As I progressed and my rides got longer I had saddle discomfort. The bike came with an Arione so I swapped it for a Romin. This Specialized saddle allowed me to lower the stem. At some point I used a 10cm stem and had 1,5cm of spacers. Never had a problem with the handling of the bike, and this fit felt good! But the problem with this saddle is that it kept me locked in a certain position which I didn't like and I suspect that it caused some knee discomfort. I also tried an Antares at some point but never found my position on it. Same with a Prologo.

So I decided to go back to the Arione and give it another try. My position now is even lower, I almost use no spacers. Legs feel free, and I can move on the saddle when I need to. I feel that the Arione is more comfortable now that I am low. My back is straight and I think my pelvis is rotated. But the reach is not ok, my neck really suffered after a long ride. Of course there was an external factor too (many hours in front of my computer lately...). So I had to swap the 10cm stem for the 9cm that came with the bike.

So that's the context, my fit adventure so far. I believe that all pieces of the bike fit (saddle selection... stem length etc etc) are interconnected. I change one thing and then I have to change another.

Right now, w
ith no spacers, I feel I'm on the limit of the reach. So here is the problem: when I look at geometry charts that include height, all manufactures suggest <378 reach while I ride 382. If I bought a size smaller could these 4mm make all the difference?

What are your thoughts?
