Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wired Computer with Cadence

Hi all,

I've got a few bikes with Cateye Astrale 8 cyclocomputers. These are long discontinued and some of the mounts are starting to fail. What's the best alternative to these in 2020? I'd like wired mounts (I'd rather spend the 5 minutes to install the wires than deal with 3 different batteries every year) and cadence. Any good alternatives available in 2021?

Check ebay. Complete wiring harnesses are available for Astrale 8.

Probably not.

I was told by multiple LBSs a few years ago that they could not get wired systems. Any wired system that any shop has is old stock.

No, it runs on wires.
