Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I use a Lezyne Alloy Drive HV for my mountain bike. I especially like the flex hose.

I use Co2 for my roadie.

Lezyne is generally best. There are lots of others that are ok but just get the Lezyne and be done with it.

The Lezyne Pressure Drive is nice.

I personally use the Topeak Road Morph mini, because with it you can put the end of the pump on the ground and use your bodyweight to do the pumping:

+1

I've been using this for a few years now with no complaints.

Topeak Mini Morph for me. It is the smallest of the bunch. A lot of people like to have a pressure gauge, but I can do without for the thankfully rare flat tire.

I prefer the Lezyne hand pump for both Shrader and presta valve. With the hose attachment I don't loose all my air disengaging the pump. I have come to find that the pressure gauges are really not needed. With the smaller pumps you can't really get a tire up to road pressure without hurting yourself, but you can get up enough pressure to make your ride.

Surprisingly the best pumps I have used have been the old Silka Frame type pumps...

I'm usually not a thread nazi, but there was a perfectly informative thread about this not long ago.

That being said, I've had:
A road morph that I stopped using because the second time I used it in years, some seal started leaking and the piston rod was crooked.
A lezyne mountain that works well.
And my favorite, the racerocket that I absolutely love.

Find the thread, good info.

Topeak Road Morph G is damn easy to use, but a bit bulky to carry

Topeak Road Drive is damn easy to carry, but a bit harder to use.

I use CO2 for flats 1-3 and then a road drive for any further mishaps (or for finding the flat in the first place.)

so for the topeak, is the mini road morph adequate or is the full scale one necessary?

Amazon.com : Topeak Pocket Rocket Master Blaster Bike Pump : Frame Mount Bike Pumps : Sports & Outdoors

My piece of resistance. I like it a lot. When I sold my old bike last winter my pump went with it. I liked it so much I picked up another one to go on my new bike.

And that's not my picture and I have no idea why so many people mount them upside down.

Jersey pocket, you say? Topeak race rocket/hp, the silicone (?) grip on the handle really helps keep it in there. My lezyne doesn't have it, fwiw

This is my jersey pocket pump:

Topeak® Cycling Accessories ? Products - Micro Rocket CB

It's the smallest I could find that still actually works. I can pump a tire up to 7 bar without much effort, 8 with a little more effort.

I have one of those. Actually I have two, one came with a used bike I bought. I think they blow, they don't put enough pressure in the tire. Enough to get you home but just barely. Getting 90psi in the rear tire is out of the question. I even took them apart and cleaned them up and they still sucked. Good size, though.

safer to keep the pump head side down, in case of accidental pump handle slippage.

I'm just curious about which bike name is censored by the BF filters.

Lezyne. Every one of my personal bikes is equipped with one. For skinny, high-pressure tires I like their Road Drive model.
