Ride in the Rain Challenge

I also ride in the rain. We have bike racks in the parking garage where the bike can dry out and locker rooms with hot showers where I can store my office clothes. And I can hang my wet cycling clothes up in my office to dry out.
We normally average around 40+ inches per year. But 2018 was wet with almost 70". In particular September (17") and October (14") were bad. Looking forward for a drier 2019.

A hotel.
We have a separate locker room by the pool, so I shower there as well.
If I want privacy sometimes I'll just take a room, and clean it afterwards.
Overnight shift that actually does their job gets away with anything short of murder. Including naps.

As I like to joke, it only rains in Seattle once a year .... for nine months.

I geared up for winter commuting going into November, only to snag a powermeter on sale and then ride almost exclusively indoors on a 1-month trial of TrainerRoad instead. December rolled in and I got a month of The Sufferfest for $1. Before that runs out, I'm planning to buy a 3-month Zwift sub. On top of these digital diversions, winter commuting means using my less fun bike as my nicer road bike is set up on the trainer. I don't mind the rain too much, but the many reasons not to bother have made me way more of a fairweather commuter.

Seattle gets rainshadow from the Olympics. I live south of those mountains so get ~60"/yr. There are always a few good commute days when we get 4" on that day.

In 2018 we got more rain here in Dallas than Seattle. Around 56". And half of that (27") just in September and October. What drizzles down in Seattle over months pours here in just a few days.

We have pretty dreary weather in Pittsburgh. We're near the top of the list for annual cloud cover. I was surprised though that our average annual rainfall is pretty well... average. ~38" and 80 rainy days. This year may set a new record, though. We've had 160 rainy days and a total of 55" so far. The previous record was 57" in 2004 and there's some rain in the forecast for much of the rest of the year.

Anyone from the DC metro area? Weather is unpredictable in Maryland but it rained for three weeks straight this past September. Apparently 2018 was DC's wettest ever with 61 inches of rain, so I was not biking consistently.
