Cantilever brake without 3 hole plate?
Does anyone know if there is a modern cantilever or linear pull brake available that has friction spring tension adjustment?
I have a bike with cantilever posts that does not have the “three-hole tension plate” as part of the cantilever stud. There are just eyelets and the posts are not attached to the bike. The brake bolt goes through the entire stud and threads into the eyelet which has a shoulder for the brake body to bottom out against.
Sorry for the thread title. Auto-correct does not like “Canti”.

Are you sure that the posts on your frame are Canti dimensioned? "U" brake posts look similar but have a different post diameter, different spring tensioning method (then the common canti spring in hole version) AND different post position WRT the rim. Some canti and centerpull brake posts have the spring "hole" plate being removeable, they might have gotten lost off your frame. There are some canti designs that don't have a spring tail engaging a hole. Dia Compe and Pauls come to mind. Andy

I don't bother to commit to memory everything I touch, but there have been at least a couple low cost cantis that use the post bolt to also hold the spring adjustment. These units generally have a second wrench fitting besides the bolt's usual one. This second fitting to be able to rotate the free end of the spring and then trap it there. But since cantis have pretty much fallen out of favor in the low cost bike market (linear pulls taking over) the used bike or shop scrap pile are the likely sources.
Then there's the Magura HS33s which have no return springs
