Can anyone identify this bike's maker and model? Google has been no help. Has a 7-speed Shimano SIS RD, a DNP triple FD, Epoch twist shifters, and a "Made in China" label. It's also heavy and pretty rusty. All that aside, I've never seen one branded like it--even the seat has a Verizon logo.

Gosh, I'm not sure it's worth $5.

Low end power climber these have basically zero worth. At the bike coop when we got them donated they went directly to the scrap metal pile.

The subject bicycle is typical of the $100 ATBs offered in department/chain stores about 10 years ago. Sounds like the OP may have the bicycle, in which case I may be able to provide a manufacturer from the serial number. Despite the level, I found that those Tourney rear derailleurs performed quite well.

Yes, its essentially worthless. Start with a box store quality level (Walmart or whatever), add neglect and rust = zero. If I find one like this I donate to the co-op, where we can at least get some useable parts off of it (saddle, pedals, RD, innertubes).

May have been a Verizon phone store give away item.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.

While not the greatest bike around a little elbow grease and lube will make it serviceable. It would be an OK bike for cruising the neighborhood with the kids.

Probably a prize awarded to a Verizon employee in order to reward him or her less than the actual contribution to the company.

Looks like the owner previously worked at a sticker and rust factory. The rust alone should tell you something. I had ONE Walmart bike, it was a surprise gift (and it was indeed a surprise to try and fix). I got a Murray built Western Flyer to replace it when I found the hub bearings were ceramic and not so replaceable...the Redline crank and chainring went into the Flyer because that was good stuff I replaced on it.

I'm a Luddite, Elmer Luddite.
