My Primary Ride
My main machine is a Bridgestone Albelt I found at a local Japan surplus store. They've been in production for a couple of decades but are rarely seen outside Japan.
Belt drive isn't anything new.
The problem is outside of Japan you can't just bop down to the local bike store and pick up a replacement belt or cogs to get a better gear range. So I got a second Bridgestone with a conventional chain to experiment with different sprockets and have something to ride while working on the other.
My R&D machine.

Grant does design and sell some beautiful frames but I would be just as happy with a plain colored tig welded frame. Over the years, the thing that kept coming up among Riv riders, time and time again, was the superb ride quality of the bikes. That was my main attraction to Grant's designs. I haven't ridden a ton of bikes but my Hunqapillar lives up to the hype. The front-end handling is so intuitive that just thinking about where you want the front wheel to go seems to be enough to easily get it there.
I think the combination of the Hunqapillar's touring geometry (stability) and the large 29'er wheels/tires (more stability) give the bike a Cadillac-smooth ride, yet the intuitive handling makes the bike really fun to ride.
I might have purchased a Clem H when they come out but I already had a great set of RBW-built 700c wheels (Clem in my size is 650B) and I wasn't/am not quite sold on 52cm chainstays, so I waited a long time for a 54 Hunqapillar to show up on the used market. I literally beat a second potential buyer by one minute, to get this frameset.

I picked this frame out of the trash as a partial bike, back in 2009. Since then, I've rebuilt it several times, giving it different purposes and personalities. I finished the most recent rebuild on Saturday with a new drivetrain, handlebars, and stem. The rest of the bike is from the parts bin. The brake calipers and headset are original. It's a 1971 Raleigh Super Course. I think I will eventually sand and refinish the frame because it's an eyesore. But it's a wonderful bike.

Tom, Spaghetti Legs recently described me as "A true BF C+V er. Breaks part, buys an entire bike to replace it."In retrospect, I'm not sure if it was, but I'll take it as a complement .
Your attitude towards this bike, and the choices and time you have put into it, for me, is at the core of C&V, as much as the maintenance and restoration of the glory bikes.
Not painting that top tube, not in ten years?
(bike whispering, paint me. paint me)
Cheers, Eric

Thank you @Last ride 76. This bike continues to impress me. One of the fun things about it is that it was cheap to acquire and would be cheap to replace if anything happened to it. That has emboldened me to do experiments, so maybe the ugliness is a feature rather than a bug.
Also, I don't like doing finishing projects. They're tedious, and I'm never satisfied. I painted the frame of my International, and it took a long time, and the result isn't so good. I won't unveil my idea for refinishing this bike until and unless it's done. It's a bit unusual.

Put this 2016 Gallium together to replace a well-loved 11-year-old Merckx CHM, whose seat tube had disintegrated right at the top. I'm liking it and riding nearly every day, as much as my body allows at 69.

The 2002 Mercian Vincitore fixed-gear (seen here on a Dos Eno 17/19T freewheel) -
- and the 1971 Gitane Tour de France fixed-conversion that gets all the Summertime early morning love -
- and the 1976 Puch Royal X that I still believe is my old one from way back somehow back home to me, like ol' Bodger in The Incredible Journey - photo taken before I replaced the Shimano 600 EX with a SunTour Cyclone mated to a VXs cage -

64 and never stop riding
New to the forum, as mentioned about to retire in December and decided to refurbish my 1990's Schwinn Beach Cruiser vs buy new. I know how this one feels and rides so it made since! Everything is new except the frame, rims and derailleur. I cleaned "everything" and put some mid-rise (9") handlebars, mini chrome fenders and an old Wheaties Cereal mini license plate TX 1954 (year I was born) on it to trick it out a little!

I was stationed in Germany 74-76 US Army. I had a Motobecane and a group of us would take weekend trips through an area known as Little Switzerland. Great times! First Motobecane I've seen since then. Brought back old memories!

Greetings, here are some older bikes ridden by my wife and I, 20 miles today on a couple of them.
