I got a free subscription to Bicycling
For several months now I have been getting Bicycling magazine. I thot my wife or one of my sons must have subscribed for me, since I didnt.
However today I looked at the label and found out someone called-----------nutzo---------provided me with that subscription.
So-------------thank you nutzo who ever you are.

Well done nutzo!!
Just how many people have you used your selling tactic for recumbents on? Must admit, you have toned it down a tad lately.

Meh. It's bike porn, and I'm surprised it hasn't gone the way of Penthouse and Playboy. I do like admiring the sleek curves...on the bikes, of course.

I've gotten in for several years for no discernable reason, other than it started showing up a few months after I bought a new bike. I figured it was a marketing thing and they just never bothered to remove me from the list.

Guess since Bicycle Times called it quits I need to find another magazine. Is Bicycling more diverse now or still Faster Stronger Longer?

I did too. Six or seven issues now. It's just ads.
I live in a high end zipcode. I also get fancy real estate mags and a few huge catalogs for fancy stuff. I shop at Home Depot, Lowes & Wallmart so it's not shopping history - just zipcode.

It used to be part of the League of American Bicyclist membership at one time, to get a free subscription. Not anything worthwhile in it to me, just spend, spend, spend, on useless things. Its tuned to someone with the attention span of a gnat. It gets repetitious fairly quick too.

It still seem really dumb on the part of Bicycling not to cover bents and trikes. The number of trikes are growing rapidly, and Bicycling could run ads for them and increase their income and readership.

I still wonder who "nutzo" is. Has anyone seen that screen name on any of their bike forums?

I received Outside Magazine for a few years but never received any kind of invoice. I finally contacted them to find out where it came from and it was Nashbar.

I complain about this stuff because they are basically sending piles of trash to my home which I have to recycle or throw in the landfill.
I literally get hundreds of pounds of useless paper sent to me every year.

Yeah, Nuttzo extended me a free year when my paid-for subscription got screwed up. The label says, "10 free issues from Nuttzo."
Odd thing is, my non-riding brother started getting the magazine too, but he doesn't know why.
The newest issue just arrived, and it has a very good, long article on doing climbs in Colombia. Nice story about a woman riding coast-to-coast, too. Good reads.
I miss Bill Strickland, tho. He writes well, and that was a big reason I bought a subscription, but he is gone as of my first new issue.

Meh. Bicycling is so brain-dead. Reminds me of those stupid American fitness magazines. I love the British mags.
