Tomorrow, June 3, is World Bicycle Day

United Nations World Bicycle Day

Acknowledging the uniqueness, longevity and versatility of the bicycle, which has been in use for two centuries, and that it is a simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation, fostering environmental stewardship and health, the General Assembly decided to declare 3 June World Bicycle Day.

I'll be commuting to work on my '75 Fuji S-10S (bought new in Oct '76) in tribute to the 'World Bicycle Day'... 25-miles round trip. Weather forecast is only for low-60s as a high, mid 40s in the AM, with 10mph winds out of the NNW...

I'll be spending a good part of my day commuting to work and back twice, with the ride back home in the morning taking a long circuit to get in some miles before it gets hot. I will also be doing some work on at least one of my bikes. Now that I think of it, I will make sure to get on all 4 of my bikes in salute to World Bike Day.

Nice day to drop the kid off at school on the bike, hit the trails with my bud, and go to lunch with mah behbeh (and use a different bike for each trip). I never have Mondays off so this is just a happy coincidence.

Good to see you around, @Scooper! I had a nice World Bicycle Day, although I didn't know it was until just now.

I saw quite a few cyclists out yesterday, I'd like to think it was to celebrate

Old school bike with an old school

old school post office

old school bikes with old school rock and roll

old school yard ornament

old school flower bed?
For World Bike Day I got in a 40 mile ride, including 13 mile RT commute. I rode my old steel frame. I took a few pictures, old school theme.
