headset spacer order
does anyone have an idea on the proper order to reassemble the spacers and hangar for this threaded headset? I took it apart and did not remember to take a picture of the original setup ..

It doesn't really matter, since they're, well, just taking up space.
Though personally, I'd be inclined to put the hanger in the middle.

Either way is fine. I usually put the cable hanger under the toothed washer, but there's no compelling reason to choose one position over the other. Some headsets, e.g. older Stronglight models and Japanese copies, have a serrated upper surface on the threaded cup that mates with a similar serrated surface on the toothed washer, so you'd want those pieces to be adjacent to each other. But if both are smooth, as yours seem to be, no worries either way.

Given the adjustment race is hard to hold,( there were special pliers made for those headsets)...
The spacer over the CP hanger resists turning it, as you secure the locknut...

If I see this correctly, you have the threaded race, a toothed washer, a CP hanger, and a lock nut. That's the order I would install them in but as others have written, there's a lot of experience, with success, with other orders of assembly.
One other interpretation (since the "toothed washer" I see has a notch for a hook wrench) is that you have the threaded race, a threaded locknut, the CP hanger, and the top lock nut. This is the order I'd assemble them in.
Given that most shock force is pushing the fork up, and unloading the race/locknut assembly, the orthodox assembly would be to ensure a proper preload. That's more important than order of assembly.
