First January commute ever

I admire year-round cyclists, but for myself, I switch to using public transit in the icy months. That’s why my user title since I joined BF last summer has said 14th commuter season. As an overweight, 50-something, partially self-employed parent, I didn’t want to risk life and livelihood on an accident, a decision reinforced when I actually did take a spill riding home in a blizzard "when the gales of November came early” a month and a half ago.

The start and end of my season varies from year to year, and in 14 years, the only month I had never ridden to work in was January. Until today. It’s been very warm and the streets are pretty clear of ice. They often are in downtown Toronto during the winter, but not usually near my home, 9 km north of the lakeshore and 250 ft higher.

So I guess it’s now officially my 15th commuter season!

Jarery, Wulfheir, I've pretty much lost interest in professional sports - mind you, a Leaf Stanley Cup final would get my attention.
And against another Canada based team?
Oh yes.
