Pedaling an electric mountain bike is a workout, not an effortless romp, requiring almost as much physical exertion as riding a standard mountain bike.

Fortunately, push-back is coming, as was inevitable.
My main hope is that the push-back against electric dirt bikes (a.k.a. e-mtbs) being permitted on trails restricted to non-motorized vehicles will not sweep up real mountainbikes (human powered) in the process.

I've already seen one-on a trail I was riding. He had a much easier time going back up the other side of a stream crossing. Just glad, at 68, that I was able to ride up, and ride the rest of the trail, without the assist of a motor, tho not as fast as he rode it.

I love my eMTB. It's not an effortless romp. But definitely not "almost as much exertion as a standard mountain bike".
