Bianchi Oltre worth it?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bianchi Oltre worth it?

Have the chance to land a 2017 Oltre “Nero” di2 for $2500. Looks to be in perfect condition with Ultegra components AND has a set of Zipp 404’s on it. Im just recently getting more into riding (~twice a week, 30 miles/day), I have a 2017 BMC Teammachine SLR03 with some new “mid tier” carbon wheels just put on, and it’s great for me. I definitely don’t need another, more expensive bike, but this thing is gorgeous. Thoughts?

If you can afford it - why not? Life is too short to deprive yourself of little pleasures.

If you are here to find validation and encouragement to purchase that Oltre, I’ll bite. Buy it. Ride it. Give us a ride report and post pics.

Thoughts? Buy it now. Don't wait another day.

You could be smashed by a car tomorrow, or get COVID, or whatever.

I would not want redundant bikes in my quiver, and the Bianch you named does not look significantly different in design than your BMC. So I would either buy the Bianchi with the intent to sell the BMC, or just pass on the Bianchi altogether.

That's a great deal on an amazing bike but, there is no way I would buy a Bianchi that wasn't Celeste. I'm shallow like that...

That’s what I call this crew all the time: “enablers and bad influences”.
