Addiction LXXIX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If you don't mind doing timing belts every 6 months, it's a wonderful little car....

It's hard to believe I was able to finish typing that. ^^^^

The mighty Susquehanna River.

Got a late start because it was damn cold this morning. Low 40s if not 40. Headwind all day.

Around this time next month migrating eagles will begin accumulating on the river at the conowingo dam, Rte 1.

In no particular order...

Found a dead bee in my left shoe this morning, so at least that's mystery solved.

Despite sleeping like a rock and being depressed as ****, rode really well. No power records though.

Hoping to do my weekly metric tomorrow, but today lacked any motivation and have to move my office into the back bedroom so AG can move into the front bedroom, because it's too inconvenient having her in the open concept area on video calls half the day.

On yesterday's ride I was thinking of Pcad for some reason, and realized that I think his last words to me were "wait, someone married you?". This morning I couldn't help but wonder if he's the lucky one, though I miss the big galoop.

And finally, let me apologize in advance if I melt down in the near future. It is going to be hell in my head..

Yes. Another challenge would be to do a metric century without food or water. Bonus kudos if during June, July, August.

Disaster fatigue. I'm all out of whatever neurotransmitter causes panic and/or depression.

Seriously - the first two weeks after the Bay Area went into Shelter In Place, I couldn't sleep. I was taking Children's Benadryl (we call it "Baby Xanax") almost every day. After a month, that went away. I initially thought I was going to drink - A LOT, but my alcohol consumption has actually FALLEN. I don't know what it is, and I don't know if it's healthy or if it's some kind of unhealthy detachment, but I can't stay panicked or depressed anymore.

Chanellock, Talon zipper, Dad's Dog Food, and Allegheny College.

I was accepted there but went to Pitt instead. Things probably would have turned out fine no matter where i went. Employers pay for what you can bring to the table not what a piece of paper says.
Agreed, with the caveat that you have to GET TO the table.

The Book says, 'Take the cap off the other end of the starter and use a wrench to turn the square end of the armature backwards till it disengages'. So one night I stopped at my bank to hit up the ATM for some money. And I get back in the car and I hear the unmistakeable sound of the starter drive locking onto the flywheel.
