- I have a basket that holds helmet, shoes, gloves, sunglasses, clif bar, tube and levers, and, these days, a mask. Also, a jacket and a vest, and skullcap.
- I have a totebag that holds socks, bibs, jerseys (short and long sleeves) and a pair of sandals to wear to the start of the ride.
The biggest problem was switching from the high roofline of a Subaru Outback to the much lower roofline of the Challenger. Took me year to realize I should sit on the sill, not on the passenger seat, to put stuff on. Any of my bikes fits neatly into the trunk/back seat area.

In my current state of very poor conditioning the small ring is my default. It usually takes a tailwind to require the big ring. I hope to change that this winter. The first injury keeping me off the bike, this year, occurred in Jan or Feb. No riding for a month. Then the lockdown. Another month. Then the amputation in mid-April. No riding for 3.5 months.

I've often considered ir. Not tough enough. The bulk of my riding is done with 40/13. That's where I was today. Of course there is nothing remotely resembling a grade in any direction.

Back in my younger days I used to pretty much only shift the FD, leave the RD in some middle gear and tough it through most terrain imperfections. Builds stronger muscles IMO. For me it was never about the endurance you need for long distance or racing where the gearing had to be optimal. That was a time when 10 speeds was plenty and 21 was just overkill and if you favored overkill you were considered a wimp.

after the first job the silver spoon piece of paper becomes much less valuable. Asking the right job specific questions will find the person who can do what is required. When i review resumes the school attended carries little to no weight.

Really? That stuff can mess a person up if mishandled.

Nobody said that, or at least I didn’t, that it was useful. In fact, I have to search for it in the data to even see it.

I can’t believe people would brag about how little they shift.

Not sure what was wrong this morning. Felt off, it seemed like my rate was higher than normal, it was harder to breath, and I wasn’t moving very fast. It was 51 degrees when I started, and I had a hard time getting my body where I wanted it. I kept shedding my wind breaker and putting it back on. It’s only going to get colder.

Even so, the "standard" snobs usually push the 39t as general use and the 52t for descending and drafting.

How so?
The only things requiring prescriptions are antibiotics and the stronger stuff. I can buy Prozac with ease but was refused Xanax. I tried it just to see.
I keep Prednisone around and use it on the very rare occasion.

Here in flatland PHX, I stay in the 52. Launch from lights in the 52x23, then up to the 17 for cruising.
