I will give them time. I am sure that it might take a year even for the business to decide what it wants to prioritize ... and of course the new owners aren't going to order up a bunch of house-brand items the first day the sites go live. Not sure how they hope to generate sales by being generic And expensive ..... but I am not a business person. We shall see.

I was wondering why there was no good prices on performances website. I wish the local stores would have survived.

Amain was a sponsor of our club century ride a few years ago when they got in to cycling.

They had some promotional stuff, & email flyers,

but prices were way less than exciting & I never bought anything.

Now if only Nashbar made quality bike shorts like they did back in 2005 or so. Best shorts I ever bought!

I doubt I'll see those days again.

The current site is a performance logo pasted onto the front end web server. The back end is AMain's database of products.

It is going to take a while for them to port the Performance and Nashbar product lines to the site.

Off topic but- In the past, I have had excellent service from Aerotech design products, especially the shorts. They tend to be well made and an excellent value.

What alternative sites do you recommend? Where can I find old-Nashbar types of selections or deals?

But a lot of the older-school designs and comparatively smaller brands have found it tough to continue competing against the "big" players.

Myself, I appreciate the earlier Nashbar, earlier Rocky Mountain, Bob Jackson and Roberts Cycles (and similar custom makers). Love to see Rodriguez doing okay, still. Love to see the market allowing many higher-end, costlier rigs in the mix. Love it that the early 1980s vintage relaxed-geometry MTB rigs are gaining appreciation for what's been lost. Etc.
Man I wish I could afford the Outlaw RL that Rodriguez makes. As light as those Rodriguez steel bikes are I can't find one complaint about the frame not holding up.

So, what are some options when I need to find some "just okay" components for my beater bike? Nashbar was a solid source for me as I started riding, and I'm bummed to see them morph into the sites I always avoided. I think I agree with what seems to be the common sentiment in that if price and quality are about equal, I'll give my money to the LBS.

Just talked to a local bike shop. It looks like FUJI bicycles is still going strong. They are a little behind but should be back up to full speed soon. You can order bikes from them right now.

These are going to be sold in the US by a new company called BikeCo, but will still likely be built by Ideal. Given that BikeCo has no history, and will have no corporate ties to Performance/Nashbar/Amain, it may take a little time before it becomes apparent what is going to be marketed in the US under the Fuji label, and where it is going to be sold.

I've sadly deleted my quick links to Performance and Nashbar. Still regret not jumping on a leftover bike for my son, who needs a small frame. Enjoyed the little surprises like a blow out price on a favorite saddle, or whatever. I did get my Kestrel Di2, and Tread All-Road 105 bike from Nashbar. My sons' Fuji was a great buy from Performance. We got great service from our local Performance shop. And, I was a Trek snob for decades.

They do make nice shorts for the $$$. My only gripe is they eliminated their touring shorts in 2017; I like a little looseness and pockets. They were more expensive than the ones Nashbar sold, but they lasted a lot longer too (better long-term value).
