First time in a long, long time ...
Two things haven’t happened to me in a while, both occurred today:
1) I was in a race
... against a thunderstorm.
2) Got caught in a thunderstorm

No - as a matter of fact, it was one of two bikes I have that I vowed to never ride in the rain. The De Rosa that looks like yours. And by the way, while they weren’t great, the Campy Deltas did just fine on wet, twisty descents.

Never has an epic tale been more succinct.

Did you ride yourself dry afterward? That's also pretty uncommon.

1. The De Rosa is not wall art.
2. You are not cardboard.

I'm sure you'll be pleased that the ratty Heron facilitated from our local CL will look the same pre and post thunderstorm. That could well be a future in our Magical Mystery Tour of the PNW at the end of the month.

Other than wondering how much ground insulation Veloflex Masters provide, it was OK. When the clouds appeared and first drops fell I was at the apex of my circular route. Avg speed was 14.4 at that point, most of the hard climbing was done with exception of a few stingers; finished with 16.5 avg. I backed off a little once I got to the point I couldn’t get any wetter. Sunny skies of course when I finished.
This kind of thing was a regular summertime occurrence until all these weather apps came along.

Many years ago, my wife and I honeymooned with a bike trip in Ireland. We expected rain everyday and mostly got it, but the couple of sunny days were absolutely glorious and better for being unexpected. I’m bringing the same attitude to the MMToPNW.
