Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Any particular reason for 90 minutes instead of 60? I've done 26 miles in one hour without pedaling. Try San Gorgonio Pass. Drop 2600 feet in that 27 miles with a 40 to 50 MPH tailwind most of the year.

Don't know if it's the most I've done, I think I did more once but I lost my computer in the middle of it... just over 37 miles in between two crits that were back to back. I included the stopped time between races and the time for changing a flat, so this was 90 min total time not riding time. Note that the max speed is probably not accurate. Looks like the fastest I got in that part of the races was about 34.

90m:
Duration: 1:25:14 (1:30:07)
Work: 927 kJ
Norm Power: 215
VI: 1.18
Distance: 37.368 mi

Min Max Avg
Power: 0 780 182 watts
Heart Rate: 103 184 158 bpm
Cadence: 2 121 87 rpm
Speed: 0.4 42.8 26.2 mph
Altitude: 144 181 163 ft
Crank Torque: 0 1017 168 lb-in

If you look at the simplicity of the OPs question, I don't believe he requested this much junk data.

21.27. Slower than snails, there was a lot of stopping and starting though.

Who cares! He just wanted to know how many miles you can do in 90 minutes. I am a fairly new rider and have no problem doing 25-28 miles in 90 mintes.

I had a 40 mile descent that I did in just under an hr. Thus, we can extrapolate from that number that I can do 60-70 miles in 90 min. This is BF after all. Reality <> posting on this forum.

Why the hate? I answered the question. That's the furthest I've gone in 90 minutes.

The OP is not the only one reading the responses. It is fairly common to post that kind of info to please the data junkies.

37 miles in 1.5 hrs is good but not unbelievable. Not to downplay your accomplishments, just saying it's hardly cause for steroid speculation. I used to think I wouldn't be as fast as I am now, but I've made a lot of improvements since my appendectomy in April. Beginners shouldn't feel so defeated by people who have ridden for much longer.

Even with a lot of stops (the first 5 miles of a lot of my rides are through town, and there isn't open roadway for a while), I do over 30 mi in 90 minutes regularly and I'm not any sort of racer.

I never said it was any kind of accomplishment. As I said I was barely hanging on for most of that, especially the 30+ 1-3 race... although I did win a prime in the cat 3 race.

i was just saying we should all have our own goals, and therefore our own standards for accomplishments. 37 miles in 1.5 hrs would be great for me, but maybe not for someone else.

19 miles in 90 minutes, up Mt. Hamilton's west side. That's my fastest to date.

Downhill doesn't count. There's no accomplishment in coasting.

I've done a lot of long downhills but I can't think of one that would take anywhere near 90 minutes.
