Information request for Colin Laing Colian 531

I am looking for any information on this bike along with it's value. This type of bicycle is not in my wheelhouse.

Most of the components are Mavic, except the seat and derailer. The serial number is in one of the pics.

Thank you in advance!

I created a craigslist posting in order to show you pics.

Go to Craigslist in Phoenix and type in the number 7028627109.

Thanks!

What does he actually want for it? Is that a Mavic crankset? It looks like the funky, but good, old Mavic HS. It's no brainer if he wasts a few hundred but more and better pics and info would be nice

Colin Built fine bicycles, had a Colian and still have a custom by Colin. Assuming it is your size the frame should serve you well. The components are average and the crank which looks like a mid '80s Mavic 630 are known for failures so I would check Velobase.com closely as it could be a very good price negotiator for you or even something you want to avoid.

Thank you for all the information. The recommended link has been very informative.

More photos have been added to the craigslist posting. I tried responding last night, but newbies can only post twice a day here, so I wasn't able to. I also cannot send or view private messages here as a new person, in case anyone has tried to do so.

The bike is mine & I was curious as to its value. From what I have gathered, it appears mostly original and is in good shape.

I know the photos aren't the greatest, but does anyone have a range as to what this is worth?

Thank in advance.

Where I am, SR Royal cranksets will usually go for more dollars than the Mavic-branded items (SR made them). And yes, mine has a hairline crack near the spider
