In addition to many of the things already mentioned (driver's license, credit card, medical card in small ziplock; emergency info in iPhone that is accessible without passcode), I've shared my location with my wife in Google maps. Whenever she opens the app she sees a dot at my location, as long as my phone battery still has juice.
I also always carry an emergency whistle, ever since spraining my ankle while trail running in the woods years ago. I was able to limp out, but realized that if ever I needed to phone for help, rescuers might get close with GPS but still have a hard time finding my exact location.

Have been wearing cheap dog tag ID's on chain around my neck for more than a few years. My name, address, ICE (wife) name and cell number. Would probably go for Road ID or similar if I had significant medical issues.
I always have my wallet with ID in a bag on my bike when cycling, too.

I normally have a road ID wrist band that has my info, spouse contact information and medical information. I also normally carry a wallet and license.

I also have dogtags from Amazon ($15?). One goes around my neck, the other is on the zipper pull on my seat bag. I included my blood type on the tags as well as medical info. I also have an expired drivers license in my seat bag.
And, no, there is not legal requirement in the US to carry an ID. However, if you get stopped for rolling a stop sign, you may wish you had an ID on you to make the ticketing process more convenient.

I have a drone programmed to follow me and post an awesome selfie video to Facebook if I crash or am hit. Last time I was hit by a car I posted a selfie video from inside the ambulance, but the framing wasn't good. I need a wider angle lens. My post-crash selfie game is weak. My friends posted better and bloodier post-crash selfies.

I mostly commute to work so I have my wallet in my pants in my backpack which has my ID and contact info.
For all other rides I carry my ID and credit card. I used to carry it either in a small saddle bag or small frame bag depending on the bike. Since buying my new belt mounted phone holster, I carry them in there. Yes, I ride in black golf/coaches shorts.

I know it to be a fact because I was a law enforcement officer for 26 years. This is the only ID I carry when I'm out on my bike
Currently I'm considering a chest tattoo that says "KEEP TRYING!!!"

I always carry my DL with me and a credit card incase I need to get out of jam somewhere. While it is true in bad crash I might be separated from my ID, it would have to be one hell of crash!
I do have an old Road ID bracelet that an ex-GF gave me for a birthday. The contact detail on it is her. Somehow I don't think my wife would appreciate me wearing it.

I have a cheapo wallet that I take with me on rides. One side has a sleeve covered by clear plastic (presumably for an ID). I put a folded piece of paper in there with "Emergency Info" visible from the outside of the wallet. Inside, I have emergency contacts, insurance info, current meds, and allergies (none).
I also have my Android phone set up to share my location with my SO through our Google accounts. Maybe helpful, but I'm not sure if it works in rural areas without cell/data service.

I saw a dog tag making machine in PetSmart the other day. I did get one one for my poochie boy Rocky and now maybe I should get one for myself. It worked for him when he got lost and hopefully should work for me too should something happen...

how do you do this? i use the free road id app to share my location with my SO but not sure if there is something better.
That Road ID app looks nice, though. I might have to check that out! It looks like it's better for recreational riding, whereas Google sharing is a good setup if you just want someone to know where you are in general (e.g. my SO can check and see I'm still at the office, and didn't get hit by a truck on the commute home.)

On a tour last June, I had a low blood sugar event. So after that event I got a road ID and always carry snacks, phone and money when I ride.
