Even funnier when you realize that even modern airline jets are glued together. How will the nay-sayers deal with that on their next flight?

Very likely. Even back in the 80's and 90's, the planes I flew then had the aluminum skin panels bonded together to reduce the amount of rivets needed. Creating a smoother surface for airflow over the wing and a lighter assembly.

+1 I recently bought a used Technium and searched the internet for examples of failures and I could find no evidence, except that some of the frames failed shortly after production. I ride mine at full speed on smooth roads and do not worry.

+1 repack bearings in hubs and BB.

For upgrades, I would look for used parts at a Bike Coop as a good way to moderate the cost of whatever change you would like to try. Then see if the change is an improvement.
