Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just checked in one complete bike sans wheels and one frameset, and tools, one box. $30. The perfect record continues.

I dropped the bike twice, cornering slowly on wet boardwalks, with my daughter in the kid seat when she was about that size. Wife was not pleased. Baby took it in stride.

Had a funny occurrence yesterday. Took the computer magnet off my old touring front wheel and put it on my bar. Put on my good glasses to change out the transmitter battery. Put the glasses case on the bar. Went to install the magnet and couldn't find. Looked all over the bar and on the floor. Thought I was losing my mind and that I had put it some other place. Searched around. Still no luck. Gave up in frustration. Picked up the glasses case to put the glasses back in it and found the magnet stock to the bottom of the case.

Did I do it right or should I try to squeeze a few hundred more kms out of this?

Some buffing will surely get you 500 miles more. At least.

I survived the Horsey Hundred. Not a bad way to celebrate being back on the bike for two months.

Nope. Looked like the majority of the sealant was still in the tire, too.

So unlike most physicians, I run on time.

One of my cycling club-mates (who I know only from rides, but seems to be a nice guy) asked if I could see him. He had an appointment today for 2:15 and just showed up at 2:35, we allow 30 minutes for a new patient and it's going to take him easily 10 minutes to do the paperwork at the front.

Sigh.
