Because the site has some content that is considered more than NSFW so to save the staff from sorting through it the word and it's links are just not allowed straight up.

It doesn't change the fact that I think you make a heck of a nice choice.

Thanks man. I am usually not very impulsive but I've been wanting to build up a new bike for a while and it seemed like a good enough excuse to.

Sick tires, too. What bike are those going on?

[Pic of nice Big Block]

and commented that i liked it. someone read my comment and sent me a PM saying that they had a 55cm frameset that he'd sell me (my size). we settled on $325 shipped, and since then he has shipped the bike and i've researched and ordered everything else. was in no way planning on building up a fixed gear bike but inspiration hit i guess! saved a little bit of money with my industry discount from work (saved maybe $200 on the saddle, tires, and wheelset) and my grand total money spent was just under $1k.

here's the full build:
https://kit.com/am5k/all-city-big-block-build
copying the inspiration a lot (esp with the saddle) but gonna rock flat bars instead of drops

the idea of a whole bike being shipped from different locations across to the US all to the same apartment makes me laugh a bit. pretty stoked for everything to roll up! i'll definitely post a proper picture once it is all assembled and tuned to my liking.

Aren't you the guy who just got a nice B'stone NJS bike? That is a helluva stable you are building...

I picked mine up from Planet X. I've only got a ride around the neighborhood so far but they ride quite nice. I'm not sure if it's the rubber itself or something else, but man do they grip and kick up dirt. Lots of noise on my downtube from all the dirt hitting it.

Hah, that bike is actually the reason that I'm building up this Big Block spontaneously. Usually I'm more of a roadie (have been eyeing a Canyon lately, but that's beside the point), and my little brother has expressed some interested in fixed gear. Got a good deal on the bridgestone, and set it up for street use. Have been riding it around while I'm waiting for my brother to grab it, and for a while I was pretty bummed that I'd have to give it up to him. Always wanted to get more into riding fixed. Anyways, was able to solve that problem by building up my own bike lol.

Oh I've never used it before. Actually never used a computer ever but I do know the wahoo is the best. I'm sure someone else knows about it.

i have the same wahoo unit, it's awesome. shows the info i need, works with sweaty hands, and uploads my ride to strava and rwgps without issue. if you aren't seeing ride or segment history on the strava app should contact them to troubleshoot.

I volunteered at the veloswap this morning, and picked up these carbon tubular track wheels for $200. Sweet!!!! I've been riding some alloy box section tubulars for years.

one of them came with a Conti Sprinter. Gonna peel that off.

They're actually Aventon, and were given to a board member and coach at the SDVA to sponsor RHC riders a couple years back, so they've been raced by the fixie crit scene's finest, some of whom routinely put the hurt on me at Tuesday Night Racing (TNR) . It felt nice to pay the guy who was also the volunteer coordinator (I did setup) and announcer at TNR.

He told me that would be the best deal I would find but I did a lap anyway just to confirm. So nice score indeed! I had planned on spending up to $150 more for essentially the same thing.
