50-44 isn't a half-step on a 7 speed 13-26. It's almost a no-step... duplicate city.
Costantino should have known better. (So should have Specialized. That's some of the dumbest stock gearing I've ever seen. And Specialized wasn't known for making dumb design decisions.)
