For stiff soled shoes...

google "spikeless track shoes". A number of companies make track shoes for sprinters, cross country, etc. - without the spikes or removable spikes. Generally the sole plate is very stiff which will make walking on them almost like walking in bike shoes. SOME of them have a "rubberized" sole plate, i.e. not as stiff. You may want to check these out. Track shoes are extremely light weight.

Under Armour makes a bunch, Puma, Brooks, Adidas, etc.

Late to the game but I'm using a pair of Chrome Truk Sneakers on the Guv'nor and Azor.
