@LAJ, nice TT rig. Interested in seeing it after your dial in your position.

Kona rules don't allow discs due to the strong winds in the lava fields. Though I always use a disc regardless the winds in TT's as I have enough ballast over the back of the bike...

Thank you Cleave! I think I'm there, as I got to ride it for real on the road this weekend. Keeping my position was much easier, and it was nice to actually get acclimated on it. I did some interval work on it, then the best part was just riding around on the warm down for a while.

Thank you Dalai!

Hermes, that guy holding over 300w for the duration is inhuman, in my eyes.

It is just genetics. He is an outlier with all the right combination of aerobic power producing structure.

This. Though I didn't think Ironman allowed discs in general.

not allowing a disc wheel in the back while allowing an 808 or deeper front wheel because of winds its like only allowing a maximum of a 20 gauge shotgun and no *****s to be handed out to kindergarteners. Misses the point.

I liked the pick because it showed the racer sitting on the nose of the saddle which I find is like getting a colonoscopy without the the twilight drug. Although, truth be known, I would not know since I have always had the twilight drug during endoscopy and colonoscopy but to be clear, never both on the same day.

If Im not mistaken, thats actually a gal (Mirinda Carfrae). Unless the said guy you are talking about above is someone other than in the picture. Ive had the pleasure of riding along a bit with her out here in Boulder and shes a MONSTER on the bike for a gal thats only 5'3. 2012 (When the pic was taken at Kona) was the year she bonked on the run, due to her rear water bottle falling out mid ride and not getting any electrolytes. 3rd is still unbelieveable despite her setback

You need to change your user name...

Very pretty. You'll no doubt hear it about the flipped stem. Tell them you're a track guy.

The Cervelo rep for my local shop had his Colnago broken in half the other day when a deer crashed into him. Bike was custom done for him and signed by Ernesto.

Sorry to hear about the deer with your friend.

Long legs, short torso and arms, I figured if Floyd got away with that, so would I.

I set the bike up same as my indoor trainer, which sees mega hours this time of the year and is pretty comfy. On the road I may be able to move the seat back a bit, have only ridden it 1/2 mile so far.

Yep, that was me. I did almost the same miles on my trainer last year than on my road bike. This year the trainer is way ahead in miles so far.

It depends on the type of trainer one uses. When it comes to painful interval sessions, I would prefer my trainer any day. Google Cycleops Phantom 5 indoor cycle. The best part is racing my cousin who lives in Germany through the black forest, from my house in NC.

I have a trainer that is comfy enough from that perspective - it's my race bike on a Lemond trainer. But the lack of scenery and breeze makes it a real bummer for me.

I thought I was fit, doing 11-17 hours a week with 5 1/2 hours this Saturday cycling.

Sunday, I take wifey motorcycle riding 4 hours, first time this year and my abs as well as quads are still hurting from that. Go figure.

I don't really have a choice, leave for work when the sun comes up and get home when the sun goes down. And then it rains the week-end.

Programmed watt power intervals on the Laptop and blasting music on the big screen TV through surround sound. For those 2 minute maximum efforts AC DC helps me get through the pain.
