My 77’ getting ready to hit the road this spring as a SS. In Flatlandia, it makes sense!

Still have more to do. Love this SLT 12.2 Schwinn!

Coupla Rosses
1) '80s Mt. Hood.

As bought - since replaced tires, fork and saddle, and removed kickstand, rack and lock bracket

Piranha BMX

Curb find. Aside from consumables, the only thing it needed was the strap to hold the coaster brake arm to the chainstay.

No photos of the 24"-wheeled GT Bullet.

Oh, and then there's that '86-ish Schwinn Sierra that's gradually becoming full-chrome, as the paint continues to peel.

Bikes: A Blue One and 2 Green One's, then there's the Yellow one. And oh, yeah, a Black One. Did I mention the Red One?

Here's one I got at the Co-op in Tucson a few years back. $85 and only needed a rear brake cable, otherwise perfect. Not my size but I couldn't resist since it was like new. It's the 25" frame version but if it had been just and inch shorter I would still have it. Super smooth but just too big for me. I sold it to a 6'-2" ASU student for its original 1977 sale price. I looked it up and these Super Le Tour 12.2s went for $225 in 1977. The all chrome option was another $50.

Still building, but I am feeling the need to polish everything up extra good.

You want chrome, huh? That I got. I discovered chrome plating as a low-maintenance finish back in the 80s, and had three of my bikes done that way.

My Rans Nimbus recumbent - I had this frame chromed in 1985 or so.

The Raleigh Pro Mk IV - originally had chrome socks, but I went ahead and plated the rest of the full DB 531 frame in 1987.

My Schwinn cruiser - I had this one chromed when I bought the frame in 1993.

I also have two other bikes with unpainted aluminum frames - not quite the same look, but also low maintenance.

This almost makes me want to strip mine.
Going to do a build thread?
