So i thought i'd want the keo carbon's but the red sprints are signifcantly cheaper and there's not much of a weight difference. Slight difference in shape... but i'm not sure what that means and then there's 1 less bearing.

rotating weight is one of the few areas where weight actually counts, but I'd still get the sprints--unless this is some pimp bike or you're that much of a weight weenie

I have the dura ace (7800) pedals, which use a LOOK style cleat (I previously had speedplay zeros)

have you looked at the shimano stuff?--very nice imo (and I'm a campy guy!)

I think it's a non-issue either way. imho the sprints look nicer. the carbon keos look like ski bindings, like the old look pedals.

I think you should consider the ultegra or dura-ace pedals too. they look nicer, and work as well (if not better) as the keos.

i put keo sprints on my new bike and they work great. i didn't see the advantage on the carbons. then again, my old bike had Mavic pedals (Look style) that weighed about 3 pounds each, so the sprints feel like feathers to me!

I have the Keo Sprints and love them. They are easy to get use to and feels good when riding for a long period of time. When it's time to change or upgrade, I'll stick with Keo's.

i read that the reason campy is putting the end to their pedals is b/c of the success of the keos (& i bet the shimanos as well).

rotating weight doesn't matter as much on pedals as it does on rims because they are not rotating as fast.

I recommend sprint. The classic is probably the best bang for the buck you can get on the global market. IMHO, the sprint and carbon are nicer versions but mostly in weight. I can't detect smoothness difference between the sprint and classic. I haven't tried the carbon yet, so no comments.

With that sort of deal I say go for the Carbons. Blingbling. I'm waiting for my classic LOOKs (why do we capitalize this, remind me) to break down so I can go Keo to be cleat-compatible with my brother and at least one pal (roughly same sized bikes) but they're only 2+ years old and going strong.

I think one should ask what you intend on using the bike for?

If it's for your commuter, I would say go with the sprints. They are cheaper, durable, and you won't cry if you scratch them up from daily rainy riding.

If it's for a fast bike you want to use for club rides or racing, then I would definitely go for the carbons. I have two sets of Keo cro-mo carbons, and love them. But, I use cheap Nashbar Ventouxs for my commuter.
