New build - Seven Axiom

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New build - Seven Axiom

I decided to build up a custom frame that I had built in 2000. I'm planning to race it this year in draft-legal duathlons, and ride it for all of my training. I'm really happy with the fit and look, and thought I'd throw a picture on here:

And here is the build list:

Frame: Seven Axiom Ti (2000)
Fork: Seven 5E-XL
Groupset: Ultegra
Headset: Chris King No Threadset
Wheels: Mavic open pro rims 32-spoke with Ultegra hub front and Powertap SL hub rear
Stem: Syntace F99
Bars: Deda 215 shallow
Seatpost: Deda Blackstick Mag
Seat: San Marco ASPide fx
Tyres: Michelin Prorace2
Tubes: Michelin latex
Bar tape: Stella Azzurra Eleganza
Cages: Elite carbon
Pedals: Ultegra

Nice looking bike. Sublime, even. How do you like that bartape? I'm thinking of trying it soon.

Beautiful!
You gotta love the clean look of a traditional Ti frame bike.

I have always liked the look of Seven's and would certainly enjoy having a custom frame myself someday. Very nice job on the build, and much success in your racing.

Thanks for all of the comments. I went out for a couple of hours today and was blown away by the ride. As for the bar tape, I really like it so far. I've only spent a few hours on the bike so I can't speak to it's durability, but it has a nice feel and plenty of grip.
