Hey, this is just a heads up for anybody that buys or uses Shapeways. They are going to be doing a big shakeup on their cost structure on Jan 31st from what I have been reading on their forums the smallest items will get a minimum cost charge, this charge will result in an average increase of 15% for all those models. Any model you upload or buy that is already above the minimum cost structure will see approximately a 10% average increase in pricing. Shapeways has said that the cost increases are necessary to 1. fit their actual cost structure better, 2. to bring it in line with other competing services, 3. to stay in business. I will be shutting down my Shapeways page on Jan 31st and reopening it on Feb 2nd or 3rd depending on if I can get through all my models and variations during that time.
The bottom line, if you are anticipating buying a mount from me soon, do it before January 31st. If you want to try printing something yourself, it is already too late, the new pricing structure went into affect for newly uploaded models last month, but stuff already there is still at the old cost structure.

I have considered using a local place to print. Shapeways is really convenient though.

Did a bunch of stuff for the new Trek Madone Disc, uses the reflector bracket to mount a Varia or other devices, check them out.

Just got a response from 'race result' and they are sending me a single active transponder clip. I have been asked to make a few adapters for their device. The plan is to start with a SWAT and ICS saddle adapters that let you solidly mount the transponder clip. I may end up doing Trek Madone versions too that mount on the reflector bracket.
I have been told that many of cycling associations arte going to be using these at sanctioned events.

If you want a reliable printer with carefully selected parts, the best value for money is Prusa MK3, .
If you are comfortable with tinkering, there are some good Chinese options too, like Creality Ender 3.
Prusa machines have great official support and both machines have large online communities where you can find a lot of info.

Like @cyclostam says the Creality Ender 3 is a really good "value" printer. It is a clone of the Prusa (previous version of Prusa to be exact).
There is a couple of Youtube guys that actually do a good job presenting unbiased opinions of the current crop of 3D printers. My favorite one is Angus Deveson (MakersMuse). You can learn a lot about 3D printing by watching someone actually do it. Also a wonderful resource might just be close to you. If you are in a larger town or city see if they have a local MakerSpace. They are not 3D printing specific, but there are 3D printers in most and people there that will answer a lot of questions.
I don't see any in Argentina, but I do see 4 in Santiago, Chile.

Thanks so much @cyclostam & @WheresWaldo
The chinese option works best for me, for most of the times you have to import your stuff (in my country), if you want to pay a reasonable price for what you get. That said, I will give the Creality Ender 3 a try!

Someone was kind enough to send me a cutoff from a BMC TeamMachine Carbon D-Seatpost, so now I have both a Varia mount and a GoPro mount for this particular set post.

Here is a list of some YT videos that you might find helpful, it compares the Ender 3 (cheap) vs the Ender 3 Pro (just a bit more). I would lean toward the Pro, personally.
vs.
vs.
These videos are from YT'ers I can actually listen to without wanting to throw things at the screen.
Also you will need to learn how to model in 3D, it is not exactly the same as 2D CAD and the applications are different. I would look at applications such as Tinkercad, the open source FreeCAD and OpenSCAD, SketchUp and Fusion 360. I have used most of these myself, but since I have now 4 years of 3D modeling under my belt, I use Fusion 360. You can model with things like Blender but it is not primarily designed for making models you can actually print. There is more software you will need to complete your workflow from model to print but I don't want to overwhelm you in one message.

So interesting thing that Shapeways is going to be setting up. Apparently they want to extend their reach and will be selling certain items through Amazon Marketplace. I was sent an email indicating that some of my models would be included in their offerings. I have no idea which items, but it will basically be the same as purchasing directly through the Shapeways site but from Amazon instead. Exciting times ahead.

I can't recall if it was here or on WeightWeenies, that someone asked for a Varia mount for the new Bontrager saddles, well I have one, https://shpws.me/RhCs
I just can't for the life of me figure out why everyone has to be different. While this looks similar in design to the Specialized SWAT, they are 100% incompatible. Why, oh why, can't we all just get along.

I looked on Shapeways but did not see a Varia mount for a Pinarello GAN seat post. Have you considered making one? Or do you know if the shape of the seat post is similar to another one you have made?

I can only do a model for the bikes I have cutoff's for. No manufacturer is willing to work with me, even if they like the idea of what I am doing. So for all the aero mounts I need a small 10 mm - 12 mm cutoff of either the seat mast or seat post. Without actually having a pino here I also can't tell you that it's shaped like any other bike.

Hi, is it possible to build a Wahoo ROAM bottom cover with integrated GoPro mount sticking downwards? We did something like this for the BOLT before, wasn't very sturdy but I think with the Roam it might be better.

Sorry I haven't been around much of late, so I just saw this. I have a design for the ROAM, but haven't tested it yet. I basically replaces the whole mount shell not just the bottom cover. It is a much sturdier design than just providing a cover. Not sure what I was planning to do with it since I don't have a ROAM nor anyone I know with one.

Just finished up a Canyon S27 specific Garmin Varia mount (https://shpws.me/RsW8). and I am working on something called a Premier Tactical Bike (Tri bike, https://www.premierbike.com/products...ant=9573975299) to create a Varia mount for it.

Three new items for Pinarello, a loyal customer sent me a 1/2" cut off from the bottom of his Dogma F12 seat post and the iTalon Ultra Computer mount. I now have Dogma F12 seat post mounts for GoPro and Varia. Like all my other mounts, custom fit for the specific bike and device. Also an interface insert for the iTalon mount for Wahoo Fitness devices. That one uses all the original hardware to replace the Garmin insert with a Wahoo compatible version.

Whoo baby! I assume the F12 is the same seat post as the F10 / F8? DO you know one way or the other?
Will buy one the split second you put the link back up.
