Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Elite Direto user question

I have been using the Direto smart trainer for a year and a half now and it has been a very good trainer and problem free. Requires only periodic calibration. My offset value is now off by 8 points and presumably, the belt has stretched just a bit. Elite says it should be within 5. There is a lock screw that must be loosened before the adjustment screw can be tightened. I have loosened the lock screw all the way but the adjustment screw is crazy hard to turn. Seems it should turn easily once the lock screw is loosened. Given it is so hard to turn, I am concerned that the belt might snap. Wanted to ask if any other Direto users have had this experience and what they did about it. Please don't recommend that I contact Elite as I have done that and it's almost like they don't understand English or don't understand what I am trying to get across to them. Thanks for any responses!

Thanks for the good suggestion but I am one of those rare birds that don’t do Facebook.

Apparently you have to be a member (which I have no interest in) to get to the page you referenced. Or if not, I couldn’t figure out how to get to it.

Did you take a look at the YouTube calibration video? I'd post the link, but do not have enough points.
