My First Fat bike

picked up a good used Kona Wo with studded winter tires. Going to give it a go. Picked up a second set of wheels for summer riding.

That's a sweet ride. Hoping you can post a few pics from winter use. I live in the far northeast and am considering one of these...

Riding the Kona for couple months now. These Fat bikes are fun. Like riding a Tank. They can go anywhere. Sand, mud, snow, rough roads. I can literally point the bike anywhere and go. May not be fast, however opens up many possibilities. Harder workout than normal bike. Been cold February have not ridden as often as I anticipated. Cold -30 to -35c for two weeks straight. Might need to catch flight down to San Diego (3.5 hr flight). Warm up for couple weeks. Six months winter too long. Happy with purchase of Kona. Decent Ride.

Is that the 2017 version?

Just curious, because I'm going to be looking at a Kona Wo tomorrow, which I believe is a 2017. Unfortunately, doesn't have studded tires, but does have tubeless.

Have you or would you change/upgrade anything on it?

Just picked up the Wo from the year before (2016) today. The Brooks saddle you speak of, is it the B17? I have a B17 on my ToughRoad (which I'll be selling now), that I'm thinking of putting on. Or, a C15 Cambium

yes, works good. A little while to adjust to the seat. Now it’s great. Good addition to the fat bike. The more I ride this bike. The happier I am.

Hi there, fellow Jersey guy here
Used fatties are going pretty cheap now, if you want one get it now before the Fall when everyone falls in love again with the big rubbers. I'd stay away from the Goose mainly due to weight. They are usually over 40 pounds which is tougher to slog through snow and trails. I've seen decent entry used bikes in the $500 range. Keep an eye on the various local classified sources (FB, Pinkbike and CL). What size are you? I'll report back if I see something nearby since we're likely not far from each other.
