I ordered red handlebar tape to match the accent color on a Trek 1000. When I looked at the bike and then the tape they weren't the same red. So here is the tape used for hedge clippers.

I found some foam tape in the lawn and garden area at Walmart one day that was identical to handlebar tape. It was sold in single rolls for wrapping tool handles. At only $3 a roll, I bought a few.

I keep a supply of good stainless steel spokes around as I'm regularly making hooks and tools from them. Lately it's been hooks: three of them to hold the inflators at the LBS, keep them off the floor where they'd be kicked and broken. I've made a two ended hook to hold a chain closed while I open or close a quick link. Another spoke, using the hub end became a tool to help feed a chain thru an RDs cage. One with a blunt, smoothed end for setting and resetting a bike computer. Another with a pointy end for poking things. Sometimes I make something from a spoke for a single use then recycle it. As I work part time at our LBS, I have a endless supply of spokes.
I've also been making hooks to hang masks, either to dry after washing or for storage hung from the rear view mirror or visor in the car. Modern times, eh?

Last June I crashed my motorcycle resulting in a broken leg. By August I was itching to ride again but my left foot still lacked the strength to upshift so I cobbled together this right side hand shifter. To accomplish this I used a harley foot shifter arm, a headlight bracket, an assortment of bolts springs and rods, a snowmobile tie rod, a chevy alternator bracket and a kick stand from a 10 speed bicycle. Can you find the kickstand?

My wife has been having some of my severely rusted chain wheels powder coated for use around the house. Some used as coasters, some as pull-through anchors for kleenex boxes.
