Yesterday. My '95 Giant Yukon mtb, doubling as a town bike. My new town bike is an upright built '78 Schwinn World. I weighed the Yukon, as it was prepped for departure. 35#. Wow!

I am very much in the same mode... but trying hard for N-2, with each N+1.

This coming spring, I'm selling off my first two bikes. Why? As a semi-minimalist, having just four bikes stresses me. Two frequently used and fitting bikes is much better IMO.

I got to N-6 this summer fall to get down to 4 bikes and then immediately added 2 more so I am at N=6 and looking at CL and FB way too much

I need to pare back. I've got 4 bikes ready to sell, but the local market is complete and utter shlitz. Got 4 bikes listed for almost twice as many weeks, what seems like bargain prices to me, it's crazy. If I didn't know any better, I'd swear someone was flagging my ads.

Several of my bikes are redundant -
'84 Univega was re-built to near same year Miyata 710 specs, bought just before acquiring the slightly newer Miyata 710. The Uni rides on 27s and the Miyata on 700C, and the Uni is double-butted CrMo with a Mangalite fork whereas the Miyata is triple-butted CrMo and CrMo fork. Weight advantage to the Miyata but only a half pound or so (24.1 vs 23.6). Frame geometries are very similar. Yeah, I should sell the 'inferior' older Univega, but I'd lose my ass on the sale so I'm keeping it out of stubbornness.
'75 Fuji S-10S and the '84 Univega Gran Tourismo. Uni has double-butted CrMo frame, Fuji is straight gauge hi-ten. Fuji has original DiaCompe centerpulls (with Tektro dual-pivots waiting on deck) whereas the Uni has cantis... Uni has rack mounts front and rear... Again, similar frame geometries. Weights are again within a half pound. But I've had the Fuji for over 40 years so it is a keeper...
'65 Schwinn three-speed vs ~'80 Sears three-speed. Schwinn his HEAVY, but it has S-A rear hub vs Sears using Shimano. BUT Schwinn also has those S-5 specific tires/wheels... Sears is lighter, uses more readily available 26" tires... I probably should sell the Schwinn to a collector, but I'd lose my ass again since I already bought new tires for it for twice as much as what I paid for the bike!
MTBs? The Woodlands is hands-down the better bike, but it was left outside for years so got rusty and weathered. The Mutt might be comparable to the Woodlands, but since I don't really know what it is, it just is. The Huffy? Well, if it were to get stolen I'd only be out a couple of WalMart tires...

Been trying the N-1 gig as well, to little effect. Market is dead flat at the moment. Semi-had to pass on some killer deals as well (thanks to my car being in the shop or not trustworthy enough outside of an eight mile radius). Fleet purity is the goal, so 4? Per @gugie it's also to make room for a Grail or near-Grail something else.

The move to 54cm from 56cm has been too smooth.
The 56's don't seem to be moving out, like college-on-hold adult children....
Perhaps Brazen Dropouts swap meet will help.
I just don't want to put anything on eBay, yet: The fees, the buyers, the bias, the horror.
One 56cm to 54cm "conversion" went SNAFU when the inbound 54cm showed up as a 59cm.
Go figure. That seller has been disowned.
56cm frames still here: 3, destined for Brazen's selling arena.
56cm bikes still here: 2, destined for Brazen's corral.
I can't bring myself to part with two of the 56's, as they've finally been built to fit.
54cm frames keep showing up. I may be beyond help.

Just gave away 2 single speed step thru bikes to a Cambodian family.
She has lost one arm in a machine accident. Neat people and they will use them often because he will ride 4 to 5 km each way to the local lake to fish every day. Good times.

I just sent my Zunow with all of the dirty, rusty, junky original Shimano 600 parts to the States, trying to decide, fix it, and build it up and keep it; then sell the original parts. Or sell it as is with the original parts as they are.

I have over 10 but may look at another one soon. I really want to stumble on a 3 Rensho for a price I can afford but that may never happen. My last purchase was a sad looking Salsa single speed that turned out to be a Giant. I have already grown fond of it. My sweet wife hasn't thrown a fit yet but I can see it coming. Anyone within driving distance of Fort Worth need a nice Cannondale R400 58cm? I have one that I would part with.

Sold my Vitus 979 last weekend. I had 4 road bikes, 3 of them "vintage". I bought and built the Vitus for Eroica, and frankly it was an awesome bike for that. Light for the period and that flexy aluminum frame for the bumpy bits! But, it was just collecting dust so hopefully it will get use with its new owner.
Now, maybe a mountain or gravel bike can replace it. I still need to figure out what to do with the Shogun single speed. Maybe throw some 35s and make it a 1-speed cross bike. That sounds practical.
