Has Youtube Instituted a New Recommendaton Algorithm?

Before I only got one page of recommended videos. When I checked it today, I got a scroll.

I usually check the various tech journals for updates when I notice something different about YouTube, Google products, Facebook, etc. Often they'll launch changes with little or no notice. Then tech writers will dig in an publish articles.

All Google products try to push user-curated content based on our patterns. But if we use ad and script blockers it'll disrupt the curation process so occasionally we'll see suggestions that aren't relevant to our real interests.

I also suspect YouTube is trying to reward more original creator-generated content by promoting creators to the top of suggested videos. Fine with me, although it means viewers have to permit some tracking for it to work well.

It's the same algorithm Tesla uses in its send driving cars to recognize obstacles.

Yes, I've noticed changes to the search results. They are much more heavily prompting results that aren't on topic to your search but if you keep on scrolling down past all the promoted material you get back on track to your search. I think you need to be much more specific about what your searching for now. If I want to see an acoustic/live version of a song then I need to add "acoustic" to the search title. If I just search for a song title then I will only get a handful of results before it starts giving me off topic results.

They're constantly changing their algorithm. They want to maximize the time you spend on the site while avoiding political blunders like turning adolescents into nazis. Constant tuning, constant threading of the needle.
