Melton
Anyone have a sense of the market for Meltons? Frame and fork are Reynolds 531. Components aren't anything special (that I noticed). Frame is in great condition - no rust or anything, just a little loss of the decals.

That's a really nice frame, but it might be worth more without the parts that are on there right now.

It was donated to our co-op. We’re trying to decide what to do with it. If the frame is valuable enough and there’s a market for it, we might post the bike to online marketplaces or strip the parts off and try to sell the frame alone. If it’s really not that valuable, we would keep it together and just sell the whole bike in our shop.

Calling @bikemig, who has one of these. He can give you a better idea of market value.
I'd buy the frameset (w/fork and headset) at the right price, but have no particular interest in the components.

I don't have a good idea for what this is worth. Melton was a very famous builder back in the day.

I know that my Melton is a superb bike. I'd check out eBay for completed sales on custom, vintage bikes to get an idea of price.
I'm no expert on how to sell on eBay but I'd list that frame with a starting bid of at least $500, maybe more.

You will need to part it out, as the parts add no value to the bike. Yet some of the parts individually will have value. Sell the frame and headset as one item, then the crankset, derailleurs, bar end shifters. Hideous stem on that bike.
Complete with that awful build I think the bike would bring less than the frame alone. And shipping a frame is cheaper than shipping a complete bike. Some of the parts are bin fillers for the co-op.

$300 or so would be fair for that frameset.

Top dollar means time consuming to sell and some stuff won't sell. Were it me, I would offer the bike for $550.00 US and be willing to drop down fifty bucks, if a potential buyer wants t haggle. That, in my mind would be the fastest way to sell and the fairest. The frame is a $300 item and the components will fetch another $300.00 but it will be time consuming to realize that result.

I definitely could not get $550 for that entire bike here, and I could not get $300 out of the components either. Lots of bin filler. Crankset, derailleurs and bar end shifters are worth selling, maybe $150 total on a great day out of the sellable parts.
