I did just half a mile today to test my acquisition, a $20 thrift store Worksman. With heavy duty parts it's 58 pounds on a singlespeed. It needs a new seat.

The roads and parking lots are still crap, so I ended up walking most of it until I got a ride in a 4x4 and got the last pair of longjohns my size what were being held for me and a bacon cheeseburger, fries and chip and salsa to go at the Mexican restaurant downtown and home.

Gnarly little ride with the trailer through ice and snow to Target, the beauty supply store, and the grocery store...because the hair still grows, the cats still use litter, and people still eat even when the weather is bad. The main roads are OK, but side streets and trails are trash and the bike lanes are covered in snow and ice ruts. Total journey...15.7 miles.

No one is riding?
Yesterday I did, the 25th, 67.88 miles. No snow, no ice.
Sunday the 22nd 109.58 miles. Roads dry and clean. Very little snow this winter.

Does bike share count as "my" bike? I think of it as my third bike after the two that I own (or owned; one got stolen). 
I ride each depending on circumstances. If so, I rode bike share to lunch with a friend and back.

I mostly bike to commute and it has either been cold, rainy or icy. I typically don't bike for pleasure in the winter.

That ride accomplished a number of things:
1) We were route checking for a longer ride we're organising in September. Discovered a few places where the route needed to be modified to flow better.
2) We needed to complete an official ride of at least 100 km for the Petite Year Round Randonneur, and so we did that ... in fact we have an extra 50 km in the bank.
3) We wanted to complete a century for the Century-A-Month challenge.
4) It was my 100th 100 ... I've ridden a century of centuries.
I've done an additional 75 rides which have been longer than centuries, but have finally reached 100 100s.
That ride accomplished a number of things:

I guess I have a few to go seeing as I only have 3. 
Did you ride the sea to sky highway while you guys were in Vancouver.? That is one hilly/mountainous road.

I biked for groceries on the weekend - just needed a couple of items so took a backpack and I hadn't ridden my Trek for a while and wanted to make sure it was roadworthy since it is my emergency commuter back up if I have problems with my Bike Friday. Then my usual commute today on the Bike Friday.
One issue with the Trek is that the older non-aero brake levers and cantilever brakes don't grip as hard as newer V-brakes from above the handlebars - you have to get into the drops to apply a strong grip. That adds a second or two to any emergency stop. Any of you have vintage brakes with this problem and any suggestions on this?

If you move them up the bars a bit, they require less pressure from the top. But of course become a bit harder to reach from the drops.
