Winter stud tires for a Farley with Bluto fork?
Hi all, sorry if I missed a thread with the same content, but I don’t think so...
I’ve got a 2016 Farley 9 with a bluto fork, 27.5in stock jackalope rims and 27.5 x 3.8 Hodag tires (the stock ones from Bontrager). These are wearing low—and while I can still get some grip on trails with low psi, I’m not sure I trust them on icy gravel and roads—essentially my commute. Was looking at the possibility of replacing these with gnarwhals but I don’t think these will fit in the bluto (at least not the 27.5 x 4.5 ones).
Should I just buy a rigid fork and get the gnarwhals on the jackalope rims, or should I downsize to something like the 45nrth wrathchilds with studs — and mount them on the same rims (will they fit on jackalopes?) with the bluto fork (they should fit, right?)....?
Anyone have any advice?
Thanks for your expertise and guidance.

Just in case anyone was wondering (although maybe not lol), 4nrth has studded 27.5 x 4 in Dillinger 4’s — these fit ok with the bluto fork, although clearance is just a few mm (like 4-5). The closest the tire comes (obviously) is the center tread, but there are no studs in the center anyway.

I Forgot which tire, But a friend of the LBS , in USCG, was transferred to Kodiak Island,
he likes the fat bike bought here , and so does others on the base,
when he rode it
so He in effect has a Branch sales Biz on the side.. for other Coasties..
on this end we rebox things to go by USPS,
since they deliver better than UPS to that Island..
