Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Tacoed Mavic CXP-22

Wanted to post this since there was just a CXP-22 thread.

I took a hard hit from a guy last night and destroyed my back wheel. Lasted pretty long until this happened; the wheel cracked fully in half, both pins were sticking out.

I was worried about the frame since the wheel leveraged off the chainstay to split it.

I haven't gotten the wheel off yet to make a more thorough examination, but it didn't look like there were any dents, just a bit of scraped paint.

I'm fine; I was stationary at an intersection when a guy t-boned me. We both took a tumble, but the only casualty was the wheel.

Dude I'm SOL. I don't care all that much to be honest with you, I shouldn't have been in the way. But I didn't react when I saw him coming bc I was thinking this guy was just gonna whip over and avert. Goes to show you gotta be aware even of the guy riding next to you.
