Whoa ... I once had the privilege of riding around Crater Lake. 25 years ago at least, I still remember it.

Pam,
Sorry to read this one, hope things heal up completely and uneventfully. Prayers for your healing up and getting back at the riding.

That's what I say. I have so many friends who take these terrible crashes, and all they get is road rash. I don't come out of a bike crash without at least one broken bone.

How did you do it, Pamestique?

I was back on in the San Gabriels yesterday. The Tour of California is in a couple of weeks, so we'll probably head up there to ride and watch the pros. This is part of the route ... Glendora Mountain Road. Descending it is as much of a hoot as it looks.

^ Nice! I like that color, and that's a sweet looking bike!

I've ridden through that area myself. Did you go through the town of Interior, SD?

Ah ... Interior, SD is the location of the Wagon Wheel Bar ... where you can ride "Radar" a 1000 pound steer, INSIDE the bar.

I thought maybe you had the pleasure.

Sunset at the top of Big Rock Drive, Malibu, California. This scene is the start of an unnamed access road into the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreational Area, which starts high above the Pacific Ocean and keeps going up. The amazing, super-long beam of light? I'm guessing the tiny diameter of the lens in my iPhone is involved. I can't get the same effect with my cameras with larger diameter lenses.

Just returned home from vacation - a wonderful drive. Saw numerous cyclists touring in every state that we drove thru. The photo below is a first for me. I've seen tandem touring bikes, I've seen recumbent bikes. But I've never seen a tandem recumbent touring bike!

Looks like somewhere in Utah, Arizona or Nevada. Gawd, I love Southern Utah ... what an awesome place to ride.

That's a heck of a lot of very low BMI's...........what climb was that? You'd think there would be more folks going down just from getting hit by the spectators.

Yea, let me tell you ... they were CLOSE!

They had just ridden up Mt. Baldy Road, and just before getting to Mt. Baldy Village, made a left onto Glendora Ridge Road to head west. After making that turn, there is a short (1/4 mile or so) climb up to Cow Saddle. This was taken at the top of the saddle. LOTS of spectators.
