The thread was getting way off topic of interesting photos and even got into political content. Those posts got deleted and the thread cleaned up. It’s a good thread and let’s keep it going the way it’s intended.

I've noticed more than a few of these signs in Central Indiana in recent years.

Jamis Reborn
I decided to put some life back into this bike with a new Shimano 105 11spd drivetrain and Fulcrum wheels. Yesterday was a beautiful winter day for these parts at this time of year - no snow, dry roads and nearly 40F.

My friends think I am overdue for a new bike. I have the means, but not the inclination to replace it. So I got her a new set of wheels to replace the troublesome (but sexy) Mavics I had earlier. They're those Shimano DA carbon/Al hybrid wheels. Taking her out for a ride date today.
today!

Nice. I decided on the same thing. I have a Scott CR1 that I've had for 10 years now. It was a sweet bike when it was new and it remains so today. I was just thinking how well it fit me and how well it rides, climbs, and handles last weekend tooling around on it.

Great idea! Are those DA 6800 shifters? What’s the story on the Rt 39 sticker on the headset?

Ah ... the US395 sticker. You'll note my user name is Biker395. That came about when I was registering for an email address I was going to use for purchases, figuring I'd get a lot of junk emails. I asked for the name "Biker" and of course, that was taken. It offered Biker 2006, biker 90505 ... all kinds of other numbers. But the number that meant the most to me was 395 ... the number of the US route that heads through the Owens Valley. It's a beautiful road and my favorite area so I picked that.
It turns out I got almost NO junk on that email, so I used it a lot, and later chose it for my online identity in a lot of places, including here.
But why the sticker? Well, ask Vertical Bob. He's a San Gabrielophile just as I am a Sierraphile, and he had a highway badge for Angeles Crest Highway (Highway 2) on his head tube. I thought it was a great idea and adopted it.
It works especially well on that Scott, as it had an unusual head tube design ... the name Scott is waaaay down at the bottom and there is a big empty space in the middle of the head tube.

lol ... good point! Believe it or not, it was pretty close to that color when it was new. It was supposed to be gray, and instead, it was a dirty white. Any color suggestions?

I've been doing a lot of group rides recently and seldom make pics with a crowd, so finally back to my solo route today to try out a new-to-me ISM saddle courtesy of @verktyg . It's a strange chopped-off looking thing but I think I might be the ideal physique for this design, having very wide sit bones and preferring a cut out. I liked it more than expected, we'll see if I still feel that way after further & longer rides. Thanks Chas !
